The compound 323 does not have pads. Are you referring to the XT? The compound brake is more like the brakes you would find on a small jet. the disc's are 360 degree plates with brake material on both sides. it is a series of 3 stators and 2 rotors.. It has the greatest torque rating of the matco brakes. Jack
