In fact the strake covers that Velocity produced a year or so back had voids 
(I don't know about earlier or later production.) These voids nrequire filling 
as described. We used West System and in good light could watch the progress 
of the pink micro as it moved into the voids. My guess is that if you fail to 
fill them you could be setting yourself up for fuel seepage along the front of 
the strake.
