But shouldn't the hydraulics cause the nose gear to go over center. The =
gas spring is only there for the emergency gear extension. But you're =
correct, the limit switches definitely need to be adjusted correctly and =
they need to work!
Pure speculation: broken fork? or perhaps a hard landing on the nose? =
One thing is guaranteed, you won't make your best landing at Oshkosh!!! =
Too much stuff going on!

it is important that the "down" micro switch doesn't make until the =
over center bar is locked- mine needed adjustment- at least you sill =
know if it is locked or not- might not be the cause, but I am guessing =
that it probably is- if the gas spring dies, then the bar will not go =
over center.......
