To minimize adverse yaw from the down aileron causing more drag than the up aileron, I installed the aileron bell cranks so that they travel much farther forward than the This picture shows the aileron and bellcrank at neutral. Ane here is the aileron at the up position. Note that the bell crank is very far forward. (Go back to picture number one and you will see the approximate attach orientation of the push/pull cable. The purpose of doing all of this is improve low speed handling - like on final - and minimize the wallowing that some have experienced. My 173 handles short final gusts almost as good as the 172 I flew for 800 hours (well a bit faster on final!!!) By the way, I do have VG's installed, and have the lower winglets, but no are vortilions installed.
