No.  The NPT seals by means of metal to metal seal.  The reason that Cessna 
used the O-Ring was because it is verrrrrry important not to over torque the 
NPT fitting.  This could crack the tapered thd. of the female fitting.  If 
you really need the torque, part 43 has it.  I have seen a few Marvel 
carburetor bowls that were cracked at the 1/8" NPT drain hole.  Don't use 
Dale's J.B. weld when installing the drains ;-) because you can drain the 
tanks by removing them.  Use Permatex (sp). non hardening.  J.B. sounds like 
a good idea on others that you won't be removing.
