REFLECTOR: A reason to hang onto the cuffs for a little while...

Hi all,

With all this talk about elevator cuffs falling in and out of fashion, I was 
thinking we may be overlooking a good reason to have them at least until the 
fast taxi portion of flight testing is over.

If having a full cuff causes high take-off and landing speeds, why not do the 
fast taxi tests up to say 65 knots (which should be below take-off speed) 
with the full cuff? Once everything is sorted out and you are ready to fly, 
trim them back a bit and have at the flight portion.

Seems like a reasonable compromise until they and the hula hoop become in 
vogue again.
