Does anyone know why you aren't supposed to use hose barbs with Teflon hose? Some of the fittings I looked at specifically for Teflon ( a fancy compression fitting) ran $20 to $30 in my MSC Catalogue. Someone suggested smoothing the edge of the barbs and using a piece of rubber hose between the hose clamp and the Teflon.
