REFLECTOR: Running a fixed-pitch

OK – so now I’ve taken this airplane out for about 10 – 12 hours with the Catto Fixed with an IO-360 on a fixed-gear. How are most people running this prop? I can overspeed it pretty easily in cruise (2850). Are people pushing these regularly at 2700 or 2800+ RPM?  It’s been so long on my older performance prop that I can’t remember. I have to pull the throttle back in cruise to keep it at 2700 at 5500 – 7500 feet.

I also noticed a weird thing where if I run LOP too much, it seems like the engine will bog extremely quickly. With my MT, it never did that. I’m just running the engine richer now.
