Chris.

I have a 173 FGE. It sits 2" higher than an RG anyway, so that helps. (buys me 4 more inches of prop length)
I moved the thrust line up 2" (checked with the Factory). (buys me 4 more inches of prop length)
I moved the axles down a bit, Factory suggested that. (buys me about another 1.5" of prop length)

This is One Tall Velocity compared with some of the RG models out there.
I have 9" of static clearance from the prop tip to the hangar floor.
Made REAL sure my toe in was correct.

How do you swing a 76" prop? The IVO I have now is 66" and the MT I'm buying is 71" and that has me concerned about clearance (my nose does sit a little high....may try to correct that as I wait for my new engine).

But then I've got 325HP and a 76" prop. Anybody beat that?

I just weighed mine on Tuesday after paint, upholstery, and other various modifications like moving the batteries from the nose to underneath the back seats. 54 + 621 + 620 = 1295 lbs with no usable fuel and no wheel pants. Can anybody beat that?

Well, I just finished all the weighing of my 173 FGE. I am running all the numbers now to see what I am dealing with. My manual does not show what the Empty CG should be for a 173. I looked on the Velocity website, and I don't even see the W & B section in the on-line manual. Anyone have some reference numbers or point me to where I missed them?

Thanks,

Kurt
