I can... and I have banned that IP address.  Unfortunately I'm not sure
how to copy myself on these messages, so I usually only see them when
someone sends them to me, but I do get several new users each day that
register even with the spambot protections in place.

You do have strong passwords, right?  I have hundreds of attempted
logons per day into awpi.com.  Unfortunately, there's only a few things
that can be done about it.  If it's your own server, install fail2ban.
