REFLECTOR: Backup panel?

I am rethinking my backup flight instrumentation plan.

The primary instrumentation will be a single GRT HXr with dual AHRS and an
android for a second/backup screen.

Originally, I was going to have a three-pack of 2-1/4" steam gauges
(attitude, airspeed, altitude).

But then I decided on one of the small EFIS units. Specifically the
Dynon D6<http://www.dynonavionics.com/docs/D6_intro.html>.
Less space and lower cost.

Then I saw the D1 Pocket
Panel<http://www.dynonavionics.com/docs/D1_intro.html>.
I'm now thinking of semi-permanently mounting this in/on the panel and
running it off ships power (The internal battery is supposed to be good for
4 hours). These list for $1425 but are currently discounted at Spruce for
$1195.

Granted, things like airspeed and altitude are derived from GPS data, but
considering that this is a backup of a backup, it should be sufficient.

Just looking for opinions.

P.S. Can anyone access the reflector archives? I haven't been able to get
in to them for over a year.
