REFLECTOR: Anyone based at FSM or nearby?

also check for a carbon fouled plug, screw(s) missing from spinner, lead slipped out of ignition coil (lightspeed), Ign coil overheated - near end of life, carbon tracking on plug cigarette (skin oil contaminated cigarette - clean w/mek), prop torque if FP, prop hub if CS. If plug is carbon fouled, clean it and your good to go, but that cyl is consuming oil (to create the carbon) and could have a cracked oil ring. Prior oil analysis might have had a spike in iron if so, and you'll want to inspect cyl/piston when you get home.

Dave,

Things to check, easy to hard, a spark plug fell out, fuel injector plugged or a valve hung or broken.  The last item can be checked by turning the prop by hand to see if there is compression on all cylinders.  Sudden failure of both ignitions to a single cylinder is unlikely.

>> I was on my way from Illinois to Texas the other day and had to put her down in Ft. Smith, AR due to a rough running engine. Cylinder 1 CHT was running cold and I have no idea yet what the problem is. Got a rental car and drove the rest of the way to Texas but I'm heading back to AR tomorrow. Does anyone know of an inexpensive place to park and/or someone who might have a lead on a mechanic who might want to help me with a little diagnostic work?  It's a Lyc IO-360.
