FG Nosegear shimmy has been solved, at least in my case I can say it's gone with the 1st GEN dampener with about 8lbs friction on the dampener. Over tighten it and your ground handling will suffer dramatically. No idea about RG's. Details are in the archive

I also heard that the factory is testing some changes to address the problem on the new solution. The dampner manufacturer is also invovled in advising how best to set the new dampner.

I know some people have had trouble with shimmy, even though they were trying to be careful about adjusting the friction nut. I don't think I've experienced shimmy yet, but I am still early in my test period. I'm interested in hearing about anybody's experience with the new damper design, especially people who had a lot of trouble with the old design. Switching from a dry friction design (coulomb damping) to viscous damping makes a lot of sense to me.
