Subject: REFLECTOR: Low Fuel Warning Sensor - Header Tank
To: Velocity Aircraft Owners and Builders list <reflector at tvbf.org>

Filling the fuel tanks in anticipation of first engine start.
The low-fuel warning float switch (located in the header tank) is giving
false indications of 'low fuel' (it's an intermittent signal that is
associated with the magnet switch; not the float).
Two questions and an appeal to the group ...
1) Does anyone have a float switch they are able sell/loan me? (Velocity
factory has a 4 to 7-week order lead time) (will replace loaner with new
switch when it arrives), and/or
2) I believe some builders have installed fuel sensors that have no moving
parts - Are these working well? - if so, can you please share manufacturer
name and part number.
Many Thanks!
Scott B.
