REFLECTOR: Need for Cabin Heat at Altitude

Fully understand about the use of blower motor (I assume it is used to move the air throughout the cabin) but what about the overall system?
Where is the hot air picked picked up and how?
Is the volume of (hot) air entering the cabin regulated in any way?
What about controlling the heat level?  Any mixing capability of the hot air and cold air?
How does the hot air reach the rear seats?  Is it (your system) effective that far back.....or?   
Appreciate more info on what you have put together in terms of the nuts and bolts.
