REFLECTOR: carbon socks

I wrapped mine as well. AS you mentioned watch the gear leg opening in the spar, but also inside the plane where the legs go into the brackets the capture the top of the legs may need to be widened.
Pulling off the top layer of fiberglass on the legs might be an easier solution.

When I did mine I wrapped them in peel ply and vacuum bagged them. They came out perfect. I used a large clear trash bag for the plastic and duct taped one end
