REFLECTOR: Reflector Digest, Vol 101, Issue 79

I have the carbon elevators. They are incredibly stiff and light. They are also WAY easier to build than the standard elevators, which I built on my first kit.

Make sure that you drill a hole in the end of the elevator to allow for pressure equalization at altitude. I didn't and mine started to balloon. one 1/4 inch hole at the end fixed the problem.

Without the nut tight and with the dampener small direction changes are much easier both desired and undesired. True upon landing too. It is pilot induced like slight over correction in a tail dragger. A little rudder or a little asymmetric braking causes a much more lively response as one chases the plane. It's not wild or anything it is just more than this pilot has been used to in the past 600 hrs. I like it but a lighter touch is recommended on the rudders and brakes at speed.
