Velocity RACERS !! Come join the International Air Meet hosted by Air Race Legend Pat Purcell.
You may not know this, but thanks to Rich Guerra, Rene Dugas, Pat Shea and Jack Sheehan, and others (forgive my bad memory) Velocities have a rich racing heritage. Find out more at SportAirRace.ORG, and of course follow the links for the air race below.
And Airventure Cup 2013 is coming up too, http://www.airventurecuprace.com/ and http://www.airventure.org/news/2013/130412_airventure-cup-race-is-back.html.
Best Regards,

Pat Purcell contacted me about getting the word out on this event to Canard fliers. I’ve been in a few of Pat’s races and can say that she does her best to put on a class event. She even had one of the Tuskegee Airmen speak at one of the races. I hope to make it to the event and recommend that you try to make it. Below is what she asked me to forward to the group. Dave Calling all Canard Flyers! From June 6-9, 2013 pilots will gather at Durant, Oklahoma for the first annual International Air Meet-Championship Cross Country Air Races. Many of you are seasoned open course racers. For those who have yet to challenge themselves and discover our Sport, the Air Meet is the place to be. All pilots are eligible and all fixed wing propeller driven planes may take part. The competition is fun, exciting and SAFE. Aircraft fly a prescribed cross country route and are timed individually. The fastest time on course is the aim
while flying VFR and in strict adherence to all FAR's. There are two racing events, a one day 100nm mile Sport Air Racing League Championship Point Event and the one day Championship Cup 600nm race. The Meet is sanctioned by the Sport Air Racing League and League classes will be used. The "600' offers expanded classes and opportunities for more fun. There is Challenge Class racing for three or more of the same make/model aircraft. The canards can have classes just for themselves! The Fastest in the World will be named in major categories after the '600' is run. There is no better venue for Canard flyers to gather at as a group. You have the opportunity to field your own top speed champions, beat the props off the competition in class and to meet pilots and see their aircraft from all over the US. Racers have a room block at the adjacent Choctaw Resort Casino. This is a world class facility and is 5 minutes from the
airport. There is ample time to enjoy the company of your peers, you have all you could want at the Choctaw Resort Casino and have the opportunity to test your skills and the performance of your aircraft in a safe and very friendly environment. There are trophies, awards and prizes for all and the chance to gather with fellow builders and pilots to exchange ideas. All information and entry forms are available at www.internationalairmeet.com Contact your event organizer" Patricia Purcell High Velocity Events, LLC 945 Short Road Sadler, TX 76264 903-564-9410 903-815-4959 (cell) ppurcellk at aol.com
