REFLECTOR: Sparrow strainer - I'm confused...

My strainer's convex surface is down and it decreased the frequency of adjusting the trim.  I flew with and without.  Trim range is exhausted in down position but that is ok.  I don't want to trim the canard into a stall.  Landing requires a slight pull at main gear contact to keep the nose up but very comfortable. Trims back to 90 knots with three in the plane. 
I recommend the strainer foil down with "do not touch" sticker on the top.
