Hi Paul,

If you have a CFI who does a lot of Velo training should be good. I just do not know of any.

At the factory, we spent a couple of hours of ground school via multimedia presentations, did an hour flight and spent the rest of the time going through the factory reviewing the construction of the aircraft stating with the molds. During this time we discussed the different configurations, i.e. toe brakes vs the original setup along with all the upgrades and their impact on the flight characteristics of the Velo. In all I was done and flew home by lunch on the same day. Incredible experience.

If you are new to the community and did not build your Velo I do recommend a full review of your aircraft with a study of changes made since your aircraft was completed. There could be some changes you will want to make in order to improved the flight characteristics of your bird.

We just lost a retired Delta pilot locally who refused to get single engine transition update preparing for Lancair 4. Sure you will know much of it but you may just get that pearl that saves you money and bruises or worse. And a trip to Florida in the fall.

We have insurance solved where we do not need factory training. Is there a CFI guy out there in the Velocity near Denver who can check me out?
