Hi Brian,
Critical is good, life saving in many aviation related cases. What some of us were doing clearly was steering our new brother in the fraternity to what we felt was in his best interest, in this case to bypass seeking a local CFI/Velo driver and to go to John Abraham for transition training. Not to support John nor the factory, but because we felt John's training is -the best-.
So OP, I can't find your name, sorry, do yourself a favor and don't attempt to to find anyone near your home location for a Velo checkride until you've done the transition syllabus with John Abraham in Sebastian. After that a CFI with you in your own bird would be super.
Thanks Brian for requesting the clarification.

We just lost a retired Delta pilot locally who refused to get single engine transition update preparing for Lancair 4. Sure you will know much of it but you may just get that pearl that saves you money and bruises or worse. And a trip to Florida in the fall.

We have insurance solved where we do not need factory training. Is there a CFI guy out there in the Velocity near Denver who can check me out?
