REFLECTOR: Throttle cable problems

Hi Dennis,

I just installed my throttle cable a couple weeks ago, and at first I had the same trouble.
Turned out I had tightened the bolt on the throttle arm a bit too tight. Both throttle and
Mixture cables were the same, very difficult to move. It was so tight, it was pinching
the small cable end bearing at the lever arm.

Once I loosened the bolt on the throttle arm, they worked smooth as butter.

I am now very happy with the feel, same as a certified airplane. Check the movement
without being connected at the throttle arm and if it is easy to move then, then your
problem is the end connection.

Subject: REFLECTOR: Throttle cable problems

My Cablecraft throttle cable (lined with teflon) works fine in the Vernier mode, but pushing and pulling is not as smooth and easy as I'm accustomed to in certified aircraft. The distance from panel to engine must be a factor in velocities, and maybe it's impossible to duplicate the smooth/easy feel of a Cessna. My cable is attached at all points with adel clamps from front to back. My two bends (front and back) are nice wide radius turns.

Has anyone found the "ideal" cable that moves in and out easily?

Suggestions appreciated.
