Race is on, always has been. http://www.airventurecup.com/.  Website being reworked since EAA withdrew active partcipation. Eric Whyte is race director. Also search for/join airventurecup on facebook for latest news as it is posted.
 
It's now a SARL event, y'all can join SARL at www.sportairrace.org .

Their web site has been flaky at best, and its now dead.
