REFLECTOR: Obtaining Repairmans Certificate - Static RPM

John,

Yes I am still going to do that. The way it works now on take off I wait
till 90 KT before raising the gear and by the time it's fully stowed I'm at
100 KT and the engine is going over speed if I don't get on it post haste.
My current work around is to pull the prop back a tad just before raising
the gear. Takeoff is a busy enough time without adding another step. I
would like to see no more than 2700 RPM at 100 KT. I generally climb at 110
KT and 2600 RPM. By the way if I don't wait for 90 KT to raise the gear I
smell burning rubber when the spun-up nose wheel rubs on the gear doors.
Scared the pee-wizz out of me the first time that happened.
