REFLECTOR: Cabin heat

Ron,

I believe this has been done before and works well. If I recall, they put a
diverter in the duct that allowed them to bring the warm air into the cabin,
or vent it overboard.

My concern on this would be the possibility of drawing air in from the
engine compartment. I would think the fresh air inlet from the front would
prevent this, but air has a funny way of doing what it wants. I would want
the duct to be perfectly sealed at the firewall. Might consider putting
some type of carbon monoxide sensor in the plane.

Subject: REFLECTOR: Cabin heat

I have been thinking of cutting a naca scoops into the side of the fuselage
right wear the side

ducts runs to allow for air flow through the ducts to cool off the return
line from the heater core in the nose.

My hope is it will help in cooling the engine and provide heat to the cabin
with out adding another

heater core. Has any one tried this? Any thoughts on this idea?

Ron
