Lubricate all pivot points in the nose gear linkage system. Exercising
the system helps free up friction.
Check for rubbing/alignment where the nose gear linkage slips into the
captivator.
If the gas spring has not been changed in over a year, it is a candidate
for replacement.
'Broomstick' is used as a secondary backup should the gas spring fail to
do the job. It is also used to immobilize the nose gear in the
down/locked position following an emergency/manual landing gear extension.
