REFLECTOR: Need help selecting HID light

I'm seeing a big price range with the more expensive touting more 
features, such as no flicker (seems like flicker might be a good thing 
for better visibility in the air), no computer error (I don't have a 
computer controlling my light).  Can anyone tell me if I need these 
features?  Also what about bulb temperature?  The higher temperatures 
look whiter,  but the lower temperatures give off more light.
