They actually had a nice ceremony at the plant that followed the build of the last engine....then the next day the build of the last RX-8.



All of the pesky rotary fanatics have already started save the Rotary campaigns.  Mazda issued statements to a lot of them already assuring them that development is ongoing on the "next" Rotary engine.  Probably some sort of multi-fuel hybrid as the story states.

Sad day, I always believed the Wankel was the most promising replacement for GA engines. EPA  and economics apparently no longer allow it to work for autos.
