REFLECTOR: Franklin Oil Cooler Bypass Spring

Examining my oil cooler bypass spring, it's a bit compressed at each end
(see pic). Also it seems too long and maybe that's why it's distorted.
It measures 2" and would probably be a bit longer if the ends weren't
compressed. According to my records, it is the stronger spring, PZL
26.11.1252. Can anyone tell me if mine is the correct length? Has
anyone checked their spring for compression? I have excellent oil
cooling and I'm leaning toward not replacing as a new spring would be a
bit longer and probably get compressed anyway.

Thanks,
John
