The factory doesn't have vortilons on their aircraft. My airplane has been flying for 19 years without them. Not to say that I wouldn't put them on but I know of other velocities without them as well. I have the short wing. I once asked Duane about adding them and he said they went needed. I have somewhere around 800 landings to date. I may try them one day along with TE Fences. It would be interesting to see how much difference they make.

There were two on each wing, one mounted about 3/4 outboard and the other right at the root. They were advertised to lower the stall speed and to help maintain aileron effectiveness at low airspeeds. I ended up removing the root mounted VG's to better seal the wing root area (the cabin was drafty) and I didn't notice one bit of difference in either handling or the stall speed.
