REFLECTOR: Fuel system design

You obviously only need one sensor.  My io520 also returns fuel, same carbon vane type pump as your 550.  My flow sensor is between the fuel controller and the divider/spider.  It only sees what goes into the fuel injectors.  The return fuel can be ignored.
