Don,
No direct experience on Velocity but I decided to use the 1/4 turn camloc
fasteners for my Glastar instead of the piano hinge. The piano hinge is
invisible, but in practice it can be difficult to line up nicely which
makes it a bear to assemble/disassemble.

The camloc fasteners are not hard to install, but depth is critical. What
I found is that you either have to order an assortment that span grip
lengths or if you have one grip length, you have to be prepared to build up
a consistent depth at each fastener point. You can do this with layers of
glass.

Hope this helps,
Peter
