REFLECTOR: Equipment I wish I had

I use this for IMC. Other than mid summer I get better performance than this and yes in VFR condition I fly similar number in the pattern. Maybe I misunderstood. I thought the discussion was a stabilized approach and the marker was mentioned it suggested IFR but I see maybe I'm mistaken- not the first time.
Normal VFR climb out is about 130 kts and 1600 ft / min. for me. You will notice flaps are included to but I ain't got none.

Yeah, if its really blowing across the runway, in excess of 15-20 I'll keep a bit more speed on, but never more than a 100.

On speed at the marker and no change in speed until the flare. I tried bringing that idea to approaches in the Velocity. Maintaining precise glidepath control at 90 KIAS in gusty conditions was a lot of work. Frankly, I wasn't very good at it. Then, by happenstance one day I tried flying the approach at 110 KIAS. A world of difference…..I could actually be precise! No problem slowing to landing speed in the last 200 feet. Besides, 200 DH landing runways are pretty long anyway. So…you can throw the idea of "over the numbers" approach speed from the marker out the window when flying the Velocity.

The starter motor was itself checked numerous times by me and other shops and showed no anomalies. However, after eliminating all other possible causes of adapter failure, CMI and I decided to just put a new starter on the plane. We installed a Skytec. Many successful starts and no problems since. Finally! :-)
