REFLECTOR: De-Iced Velo

Has anyone installed, or even considered installing ThermaWing de-icing
system from Kelly that is on the Columbia and SR22's? Apparently it's
latest generation works well and is compatible with composite skin.
Requires a 7500W second alternator! I calculated something like a 9 to 10
HP draw. Here are some links:

Particularly the TXL and VTwin guys would have already looked at this, but
de-ice is good for everyone really if the cost of installation
and maintenance can be brought down to the home-builder zone.
Over the years in Long EZ flying I've picked up ice on the leading edge of
the Long EZ's canard and main wing. It sure give us a more utilitarian
aircraft if we can build in, or add on de-ice at a reasonable price.
We already have prop ice... :)
Anyone already De-Iced?
