REFLECTOR: iPad 3 RAM

The portable companion gps is a great addition to the ipad, and if I am not mistaken, it is required for Foreflight geo-ref approaches.

The ipad is a lot more than an in-flight navigational tool with wx.  You will find a 1001 uses for the ipad when you are not flying.  For maximum portability I would opt for the the 3G/4G access.  If WiFi is available, so much the better - but I've been at many locations where 
WiFi access is not available.
