REFLECTOR: Transitional Training Complete

I returned from Sebastian late on Friday.  What a great trip.  I was very satisfying to see the workings of the factory and to get some stick time in a Velocity.  No, my landings are far from perfect, but I hope I have enough knowledge to better move in that direction.

I went back and forth on whether to make the trip.  I now know that it was foolish to even consider not taking advantage of this service. It is great bang for the buck.  Many homebuilders (ie Cozy, Long-EZ etc) would relish such an opportunity.  John is a patient and respectful instructor who "has a clue" about what I needed to know.

Just being in the environment while they were all working on the twin added to the experience.  Yes, I tried to stay out of the way, but they never made me feel anything but welcome and part of the extended family that is a Velocity builder. It is reassuring that Dwayne, Scott, Ken, John et al still get enthusiastic and show joy to what they are doing. Well done.

Capt Hiram's Resort was nice too.  It did not add any drama to my visit, was quite close to the airport and was clean and comfortable.  I would have liked a bit more lively crowd in the evenings out at the "Sand Bar" but it was during the week and it is Central Florida....;-).  I here it is the place to be on the weekends......
