Continental IO-360 6 Cylinder on XL w/SE wingsActually, the Velocity Standard was designed around the 200hp Lycoming.  Later installations with 180hp and 160hp engines determined the aircraft would fly with these engines.  Because of its lower power, the IO-320 installation really needs a constant speed propeller to get acceptable performance.

  The standard fuselage was designed for the 160 hp O-320. Fifty more hp ought to handle that bigger fuselage.

    Hi Kurt, Andy, Scott, Nick, Connie & all you nice guys @ the Reflectors,

    I added on the RE: .... "With SE wings", maybe this clarifies why the Continental IO-360 210 hp 6 cylinders should be enough power plant adding an IVO prop and avoiding the RG pump extra weight. This setup was discussed with Duane and Scott at Velocity in Sebastian. I'm no engineer no expert to decide these things.

    Does anybody know who has a Continental IO-360 on his Velocity? I understand this would help.
