REFLECTOR: Intake snorkel

Scott,

I see from your picture that you have an intake ram tube.  Was that a
hand-made one-off, or did you find a source for one that you added.

    Here is a pic with the gear down.  it basically is what it looks like
is sans doors.. I kept the lower end of the door that is next to the
wheels.  I also embedded a tube in the gear leg that the brake line runs
in, instead of clamping it to the door.

Its been a while but I think the factory recommended speed in the POH  was
110 or 120 kias? My POH is in the plane so not sure.

Interesting.  Do you happen to have pics showing exactly what you removed?
Also, if you use 150Kts now as your Vlo / Vle what did you use before you
made the gear door mod?

I removed 90% of my main gear doors, beefed up the nose gear door hinge. No
noticeable reduction in speed, and I now use 150 kias as my extension
speed! A much more useful gear extension speed considering our cruising
speed.

I'm sure it won't add any speed, but I added a hinge and spring to allow
the very bottom of my gear doors to completely close. Pictures attached.
