Probably just for the oil bypass, since the oil pressure is much higher.  If your oil pressure is low, you can add 1-3 washers to 
increase the spring pressure and raise the oil pressure a bit.

Are the stiffer springs intended for the oil bypass, engine oil pressure regulation, or both?
