transfer, if the oil sump can "see" the high skin temperature of the
exhaust, it will be heated via radiation at the 4th power of the skin
temperature.  A protective wrap can greatly reduce the skin temperature of
the outside of the exhaust, and dramatically reduce the transferred heat.
