Scott,
Sounds like you are getting there. The breather system I have runs to a vented, drainable can. Got if from Summitt Racing. Not sure if you remember seeing it by the redrive or not. Here is a link to one like I have:

Keep us in the loop.

Subject: REFLECTOR: Breather Lines
I ripped(well removed) the 5/8 breather line from my IO520. I think I mentioned that I probably exacerbated the problem by splicing the 5/8 line becasue I ran out of a single piece that would fit. I can't count the times I've shot my self in the foot by saving a dime or a minute.
Replaced it with a 3/4 line and removed the air/oil separator from the system.
Flew for two+ hours today and not one sign of seepage from around the pan gasket or crank seal!
Thanks to John Tvedte for the great tip!
I'm going to fly for a few more hours like its set up to really verify things are good. I once again have a nice oil streak on the lower cowling originating from the breather tube.
If the seep areas stay dry I will reconnect the air/oil separator to give it one more shot. Blowing through it with my mouth it exhibits no back pressure that is discernible. And its does a great job of reducing the oil blown out to almost nothing.
I'm toying with the idea of strapping a 1/4" tube to the side of the exhaust stack and letting it burn the oil instead of returning it back into the case. I'm not 100% convinced returning to which it came is that bad of an idea, but I'm open to listen. I've also thought about mounting a collector on the firewall that could be drained from out side the plane...
Scott
