Jim,
Good looking grip and nicely made. Do you recall the amount of time spent to fabricate the grip?

OK Guys here goes the top secret right/left hand stick grip. Photo attached. Simon came up with the idea and I did the electrical part.

First obtain a 2 Qt. plastic bag, Mix up a large handful of Micro Balloon & place in plastic bag, now firmly grasp the plastic bag and start molding the rough shape with your other hand then walk around looking like an idiot holding the plastic bag until it hardens.
Next drill a hole from the bottom straight through the top of the Grip to accommodate a tube to slide over the supplied stick tube so you can attach the grip (we used thin wall aluminum tubing that was a slide fit and drilled and tapped to accommodate a small machine screw 1/4 " #10 .) Attach the Al tube to the grip with epoxy to an acceptable depth.
Now the fun, using your Dremel Tool and sanding drums and wire brushes form the raw grip to a comfortable shape for right & left handed use. Next hollow out the grip for mini micro switches & a top hat switch. A thin piece of aluminum is bent and shaped and attached to the grip with two small screws.
Note I have dual transmit simultaneous capability pilot and co-pilot. Looking at the photo the Top red buttons are Radio user swap & Ident. The top hat switch is R-L-U-D trim. The red thumb switches are obvious Pilot & Copilot PTT.
Additionally there are two old starter looking push buttons side mounted on the pilot & copilot sides near the rudder pedals that are tied to the PTT switches so the person not using the grip can push the switch with the side of their foot to transmit. It also allows the person using the foot switch to take notes etc. There is an additional red push button (that you cannot see in the photo) located on the front of the upper part of the grip used for autopilot disconnect.
There you have it a dual stick grip costumed fitted for a few dollars. I sealed the grip with clear Krylon spray and then a coat of gold Krylon then multiple coats of clear Krylon for wear protection.

Don,
I went with Ray Allen as well. The ones that are "supposed" to fit peoples hands never do fit mine. Plus they feel really wierd if someone tries to get some stick time from the right seat.
I like the foam grip feel, and the fact that the switches can handle the trim without relays & have dynamic braking.

I'm going to be buying a control stick soon.
I was wondering if everyone would weigh in on what stick you went with.
Thanks!
