REFLECTOR: Aero Composites propeller - NEWS!

I hope to use mine as soon as its flying. One of the reasons I went with the AC prop was the reputation it had with the tractor props. In every case when they took a metal prop off and used an AC prop, it went faster.

This news concerns me in case I damage my AC prop. It really doesn't surprise me though since the population of pushers is so small. To create prototype molds, test and manufacture a propeller for such a small population doesn't make business since, especially in this economic climate. I had heard rumors that AC was making props for the Drones at least that's what I was told when it took so long to get mine.

I was considering using a sacrificial prop for my initial flight tests in case there were any gear issues. I might consider this a little more now.

Best regards,
Nick

John,
On my XL RG it was more expensive but significantly faster, better climb and
efficiency MPG was better. Dramatically more tolerant of FOD. This news
disappoints me and my hopes others would get to enjoy the prop.

Rene'
Except for the tight hub mine is great.

That's ok. They are slower, less efficient, and cost more anyway.

install a Deltahawk aero diesel engine. Speaking with the folks at
Deltahawk, we learned that Aero Composites and Deltahawk have yet to conduct
an installation survey to determine the compatibility of Aero Composite
propellers on Deltahawk engines. This led me to contact both companies to
determine the best way to move forward with an installation survey.

company is no longer accepting new propeller orders. I was informed that
Aero Composites was in the process of redesigning their blade products, and
that tractor blades (only) would initially be offered. There are no
immediate plans to make a pusher configuration using the new blade design.
I was surprised to learn that it is Aero Composites decision to discontinue
production of the current blade models. I confirmed with the company
representative that this means Aero Compsites is no longer in the pusher
propeller business, and that they do not have plans to offer new pusher
blade models in the immediate future. Velocity owners who have orders on
the books with Aero Composites will receive the current model design. For
those who have not yet placed their order for an Aero Composite pusher
propeller - it appears you are out of luck.
