I agree, the GPS is really, really useful. In fact {insert inside joke
here}, I know folks that think it would be irresponsible to fly without
their iPad... I use SkyCharts so I always have the "real" charts and
sectionals avaialble, and WingX Pro in flight, which has the AF/D info and
moving map GPS with airspace, weather,etc... I love it. There's a good
write-up on the iPad apps in the latest Kitplanes (I think, might be SA).

Youll want to get the iPad with the 3G wireless option. The 3G chip has a
GPS on it. The GPS is very useful.
I have the iPad and use ForeFlight. ForeFlight will use the GPS and will
track you on the maps and charts. No 3G ... No GPS.
Most of the applications can get weather, file flight plans, etc. If you
are at an airport that doesnt have Wi-Fi, youll need the 3G network for
internet access.
