REFLECTOR: Carb Temp Gauge

That's a good idea, Larry. I'll do some checking on the ground loop first. Kurt, I spoke with RMI a few years back about the CHT problem. The wire terminals at the connector were soldered and he told me that takes the spring out of the connectors and causes a weak connection. I rewired it, but no improvement. I did fix a bad oil pressure reading by isolating the instrument ground, but no help to the CHTs.

John,
Since you can buy the Westach for under $140 complete with a probe that also
includes a warning light that isn't offered on the Mid-Continent, that's the
way I'd go for a replacement. That being said, you might have a ground loop
problem with the installation of the RMI unit. The fact that your CHT
readings were also unstable on the RMI is telling you something.
