REFLECTOR: Symantec confusion

Seems to me that the airflow pressure would push the ailerons to remove the slop.
So, with them drooped a bit as used to be the preferred placement, the airflow would load them upward toward the trailing edge of the wing.
If they were placed upward, the flow would still push them toward the trailing edge of the wing, or slightly downward.

Of course that assumes that there is no more flow seperation on one side versus the other...?

Still sanding for paint.. and thanks to this thread... wondering where to place my own ailerons when reassembling!

Thanks a lot :)

Sooo, what about us with ailerons up? Where will they be in flight?

Aileron snatch, Dutch roll and adverse yaw are three separate and distinct things. Google "Dutch roll" and and get your terms straight. Aileron droop on a Velocity is to compensate for slop in the control system. In flight the ailerons should be in neutral. Air foils that droop in flight are called "flaps" and are retracted in cruise. Gliders have air foils that stick up to kill lift. A Velocity is neither a glider or does it have flaps. Aileron snatch is where aileron control is "snatched" away from the pilot in an un-commanded moment.
