REFLECTOR: John (Jack) Morrison

Sad news for the canard community.

I received a call from Dave Spano yesterday. As some may recall, Jack
Morrison flew a very cool eRacer. The little purple one with the IO-540 in
it. The plane was lost a couple years back when a fuel fitting came loose
and sprayed fuel on the engine in flight. Jack barely escaped with his
life.

Since the crash Jack has been working on a "HIGHLY" modified eRacer. From
others personal accounts it was different enough to be its own aircraft
model.

Jack was killed while making the first flight of his new airplane early
Sunday morning.

Details are not available. From the reports, he had an engine problem that
he reported, and was not able to make it back to the airport. It appears
that he hit power lines on the descent and the aircraft tumbled into a corn
field.

This page has an account and a news video.
