REFLECTOR: Franklin Fuel Pump

John,

Before sending in your pump for repair, remove and clean the strainer in the
carburetor. be sure to safety wire in back in place.
Do you have a fuel filter before or after the engine pump?. if yes, replace
it. The reason the flow jumps to 5~20 GPH is because
the float is low in the carb bowl. when the electric pump is turned on, the
rush of fuel to fill the bowl causing the increase, after the
bowl is filled the flow will return to normal.

At Idle, my fuel flow is 3.5 ~ 4 GPH yours may be a little low. There is an
adjustment on the rear of the pump, loosen the nut and
turn the center screw out for 6.5 ~ 7 PSI. re-tighten the nut and your good
to go.
