Pitch trim?
It's probably one of the limit switches built into the ends of the
tube. Take it apart, re-spring the switches and reassemble.
El-cheapo way if you get the other failure (not stopping at the
limits)? Get a PTC fuse from Digikey. About 1 amp should be right. It
will trip at the overcurrent.
