REFLECTOR: Main Gear Brake Heat Sheild

I did the same thing to create a brake tube conduit in the leg, cut 3
inch pieces of plastic straw with a little slit on one end so it would
fit into the next piece. glued them in place, then glassed over them.
Looks good. I wish I had used straws a bit larger as its a real chore
getting the nylo-flow through the leg conduit. Takes lots of lubricate
a cussing.

Where the nylo-flow leaves the conduit there is 4 inches of bare
tubing to cross to the brake caliper. I split some fuel line and
wrapped it around the nylo-flow for rock and heat protection.

I glued a small piece of heat reflector onto the gear leg opposite
the brake disk. Its a sandwich of self stick adhesive, fiberfrax or
some high heat fabric, aluminum foil. I've never had any problems
before with 450 hours of flying but what the heck.
